The Roosts
Pillars that once held a pier and were later used to secure the shark net at Shorncliffe, Moreton Bay Marine Park, Australia. The shark net has long gone, despite the fact that the local council has revamped this area to attract more visitors and consequently, swimmers.
On this particular day there was not a breath of wind, and hardly a sound to be heard. Normally, in these conditions, the bay would be dotted with recreational fishing boats. Ironically, considering that many fisherman may wait months for idyllic fishing conditions such as this, many of them were blocking the city roads with their boats and trailers in protest at the closures of parts of the bay to fishermen.
