Looking towards the Golden Mile from Blackpool’s North Pier. The “Pepsi-Max Big One” can be seen in the far distance to the left of Central Pier’s Ferris Wheel.
The ride cost £12,000,000 to build and to date is the biggest ever investment from Pleasure Beach. At its highest point, the ride stands 213’ft (65m) with the first drop measuring 205ft (63m). It is also one of the longest out-and-back roller coasters, measuring 5497’ft. The first drop has an incline angle of 65 degrees and the usual acceleration for the ride is 74mph/112kph. The ride lasts approximately two and a half minutes and riders generally experience lateral g forces of up to 3.5 negative g." (at. Wikipedia)
